Mana Organics
Traditional Chai uses a tea prepared by a CTC (Crush, Tear, Curl) method. It infuses chai with a bold flavor, without any bitterness. We chose Mana Organics because their business is a family owned business and offer a single estate, grower direct organic tea from Assam, India.
Their tea estate was established in 1924 with its family roots dating back to 1864, and has become a small town. They utilize permaculture practices, employ women at the highest levels, and provide education to their community. You can learn more about Mana Organics here
Clover Blossom Honey
There’s magic in honey. Honey is used in traditional medicinal formulas in the East to harmonize ingredients. When we create something with many heating ingredients that grow in climates different from our own, the overall formula becomes harmonized with the addition of honey. Honey is created by local terroir, which in turn helps our bodies recognize how to work with and use a complex combination of ingredients (like chai).
We have chosen Clover Blossom Honey for their commitment to quality, and because they are a commercial producer with over 3,000 hives. They only warm the honey to same temperature as the hive in order to bottle it, around 90 degrees, which helps to preserve the medicinal components of honey.
VLC Spices
VLC Spices is a whole spice distributor from South India and is known for their dependable, culinary quality spices. We are excited to work with them because their whole green cardamom quality is absolutely exquisite and adds an incredible scent to Masala Wala Chai!
